Outcomes
What did these in-school coaching studies tell us?
- Schools using Everyday Math materials outperformed the comparison group on most, but not all, "Theory of Practice" variables. However, comparison schools posted greater "test score" gains.
- Everyday Math implementing schools outperformed the comparison group when the dependent variable considered was the %Meets/Exceeds rather than scale scores, and Everyday Math implementing schools posted higher average same student "test score" gains than the comparison group.
- Schools that were assigned a Specialist outperformed their comparison groups on most "Theory of Action" variables as well as every "Performance" measure examined. This occurred regardless of whether Everyday Math materials were being implemented.
- Schools utilizing Specialists posted strong individual same student gains in the only population (2005 3rd graders who took the 2006 ISAT as 4th graders) where multi-year analyses were possible.
